Ford Escort RS Cosworth (N870 GNO)

Built for Ford World Rally Team / Msport by GSE, used as a recce / practise car for the world rally team. This car was used for the European rallies of the World Championship, and famously driven by Colin McRae during his time with Ford (1999- 2002) Carlos Sainz (1996- 1998)
This car no doubt has plenty of stories to tell, adventures from all over the world, many scrapes and incidents along the way, mechanically maintained to the highest level with new parts thrown at it constantly, bodywork hastily touched up/repaired after each event before being sent off to the next rally in its hectic schedule.

Shell.
LHD Ford Motorsport bodyshell, fully seam-welded and with additional chassis rails fitted. T45 multi-point welded in roll cage. Full underfloor guards & protection. Rear upper spoiler delete.
Engine
Mountune with Group A head gaskets, MIG wire insert in the cylinder block, modified oil pump, and enlarged and modified turbocharger housing. ALS (Anti Lag System) Pectal motorsport ECU.
Transmission
AP single-plate paddle clutch. Quaife close-ratio gearset with quick-shift lever and up-rated V/C unit (50nm). The front axle has a Quaife thick-wall casing and similar bottom plate, the rear axle is up-rated with a V/C unit (240nm) of 4.1:1 ratio.
Suspension
The front suspension Öhlins two-way adjustable dampers; Gartrac strengthened front hubs; GpA motorsport TCA with Rose jointed suspension top mounts. Rear Öhlins two-way adjustable shock absorbers with a Group A beam with double strengthening skin with multi-point adjusting positions (inner and outer); Gartrac fully adjustable Group A rear arms with adjustable Rose joints.
Brakes
Uprated brake pad materials and fluids, rules states brake Caliper shad to remain std. Hydraulic hand brake and inline bias brake valve.
Other
A bespoke motor sport wiring loom, aeroquip lines throughout, original Sparco seats (Mcrae /Grist) & lightweight Sabelt harness’s. Coralba trip meter mounted on the codrivers door with additional one on the dash for the driver. Peltor intercom system is fitted with road headsets, Bilstein quick lift jack, original Bonnet mounted lamp pod to WRC regulation recce rules. Magnesium Ford motorsport GpA OZ wheels etc.
