The AM V8 coupé was a car produced by Aston Martin from 1972 to 1989, of which 289 were built.
It was an evolution of the DBS V8, from which it took the bodywork and engine and developed them further.
In 1972, Aston Martin was bought by Company Developments. In April of that year, the name DBS V8 was dropped in favour of AM V8 to create a new version of the DBS.
The car we are offering, labelled 'DBSV8', with chassis V8/10519/RCA and engine V/540/376, left the factory in 1972. It was part of the pivotal period when the first 20 phase 2 cars produced were fitted with the new headlamp configuration and mesh grille... but retained the 'DBS V8' badge, so dear to David Brown. If we add to this the question of the continuation of the approved Bosch fuel injection, our example is the 17th and last manual transmission car to be built.
It has had a number of distinguished owners: two great industrialists ... then a great British competition car specialist ..., then the Emir of Kuwait, ..., right up to the last, a French aristocrat.
A noble car, in a unique Orange Hermès livery, rich in its past, its lineage and its major conservative restoration less than 7,500 kms ago, it is ready to take part very victoriously in the very great international competitions, equipped with its FIVA card.
This is a rare and unique opportunity to acquire an authentic piece of Aston Martin history.
