Remember, only 16 LOLA T70 MK3 B race cars were made in Slough in 1969 …
This car was first produced in the early 1970‘s with a complete and period correct aluminum LOLA T70 MK3 B monocoque (Chassis No: SL76/164) including magnesium uprights and Hewland LG600 gearbox … but was never delivered as a car during the period, instead it ended up with LOLA specialist McClendon International Inc. in the USA where it hung on the wall as a “wall decoration” and at the end of the last millennium it was finally completed by "Mac" when engine, body and all the small details were finally assembled to a complete car for a dedicated customer in America who drove it for a 10 year period in the USA, before it was sold and shipped to England for a full FIA update and HTP certification, at Phil Stott Motorsport Ltd, before it finally ended up in Sweden.
As mentioned … This car was completed and built in late 1990´s as a LOLA T70 “Continuation Car” by LOLA specialist Herbert “Mac” McClendon, USA (McClendon International Inc.) to a very high LOLA original standard, with new original LOLA parts and tools to the period correct specification …
Now this LOLA T70 racecar is fully overhauled and with all magnesium parts X-rayed and crack tested, new ATL fuel tank bladder (FIA certified to 2026, with the possibility of re-certification to 2028)
The car is fitted with a brand new Chevrolet V8 engine built by David Whitehurst Racing in Derby, England, to 5 liters FIA specification and produces over 500 bhp (ENGLE roller cam, AVIAID Dry sump oil system, WEBER IDA 48 Carburetors …)
The period correct HEWLAND LG600 gearbox (LG600 #161) is also overhauled with all genuine HEWLAND internals … (this LG600 #161 was manufactured and delivered to LOLA Cars Ltd in 1969)
Original 15” LOLA Magnesium rims, width is 11” front, and 17” rear.
DUNLOP Tires - Front: 4.30/11.60-15 … Rear: 5.30/16.00-15 - DUNLOP Racing - CR 82
