“The stuff movies are made of”
1965 Ford Mustang Race Car
Road registered, valid FIA HTP
Eligible for Masters, Peter Auto, Tour Auto, Modena 100 ore, Monte Carlo Classic and at least a dozen other events
Arguably the most versatile historic competition car
At Machines with a Mission, we have a soft spot for the 1966 Oscar winning movie “Un Homme et une Femme” from Claude Lelouch. So, when this white full race Mustang crossed our path, we had no other option than to dress it in the Livery of the car that “Jean-Louis Duroc” drove from Monaco to Paris and Deauville the night after winning the Monte Carlo Rally.
Underneath the handsome “Ecurie Ford France” livery resides a full race yet road registered car that we believe to be the most versatile pre 1966 FIA approved competition weapon available.
Originally the car started its life in 1966 at the Ford assembly plant in Amsterdam and was converted to a race car in the nineties. More recently the car was completely rebuilt by Tachyon engineering of The Netherlands and was entered in a handful of races in the Dutch “Supersixties” championship and in the 2024 Goodwood Members Meeting. Other than that, the car is eligible for a wide variety of events and championships all over Europe and beyond.
It fits well in the new Peter Auto pre 1966 Classic Touring Challenge, The Masters pre-66 Touring car races, the Supersixties, the Iberian championship, Tour Auto, Modena Cento Ore and then some.
