Ferrari F355 GT MasterCar

Sold new in December 1996 in Italy, it underwent GT preparation which opened the doors to a wide range of circuit races, unlike the Challenge versions, which were restricted to their own series. In particular, it was fitted with front subframe reinforcements and special aerodynamic components; the interior was stripped back and it was fitted with a large OMP Racing roll cage specifically designed for the GT series – far more advanced than those on the Challenge models – and for which the homologation certificate is included. Furthermore, it has been fitted with a specific gearbox, 18-inch centre-lock wheels and an Airjack-type lifting system.
The accompanying CSAI Passaporto Tecnico records its entry into competition as early as 1998, driven by G. Solieri, and in 2000, the name of the famous driver Arturo Merzario appears; teaming up with Paolo Maccari, he took part in several races, such as those at Monza (twelfth), Vallelunga (third), Misano (second overall and victory in GT3), and Varano (fifth), which illustrates just how competitive this car was. It reappeared in February 2001 at the 24 Hours of Daytona, driven by Fabian Peroni, Tony Ring, Sergey Zlobin and Andrea Montermini, carrying the number 30 for the MasterCar team (led by Mario Crugnola). It finished 36th after completing 505 laps. Back in Italy, it raced on several more occasions until 2004, when its ‘official’ racing career came to an end.
The FIA-approved fuel tank was replaced in 2025. This Ferrari F355 comes with administrative documents and a set of parts, including various fittings such as the centre console, an air-conditioning compressor, a gearbox casing, a set of gearbox gears and 10 centre-lock wheels, as well as the moulds required to remanufacture the specific front and rear fibre-reinforced plastic bumpers.

Today, this historic car, once driven by one of Italy’s finest drivers, bears the marks of a rich racing career; it has the advantage of retaining the livery it wore when it competed in the Daytona 24 Hours and was sponsored, notably, by Brums.
Close enough to the production model to allow for racing at a reasonable cost, and faithful to its original condition in its 2001 Daytona 24 Hours livery, it is eligible, in particular, for Peter Auto’s Endurance Racing Legend series (including Le Mans Classic), where it will prove to be a competitor that is as beautiful as it is rare and high-performing.
