AMG

AMG, originally an independent engine preparation workshop founded in 1967 by Hans Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher in Affalterbach, Germany, has become synonymous with high performance in Mercedes-Benz. Specialising in engine modifications and car performance, AMG entered motorsport, achieving notable successes in disciplines such as the DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters) and GT racing. AMG vehicles stand out for their power, handling and cutting-edge technology. An interesting anecdote is that the name 'AMG' is derived from the initials of the founders and Aufrecht's home town of Großaspach, underlining the modest roots of this automotive performance giant.
