Van Diemen historic race cars

Van Diemen

Founded in 1973 by Ross Ambrose and Ralph Firman Sr. in Norfolk, England, Van Diemen quickly established itself as a leader in the design and manufacture of single-seater racing cars, notably in Formula Ford, a discipline renowned for being a springboard for young drivers into higher categories. Van Diemen cars have stood out for their build quality, reliability and competitiveness, contributing to the development of many motorsport talents. An interesting anecdote is that the brand takes its name from a distortion of the name of Tasmania, 'Van Diemen's Land', underlining Ross Ambrose's Australian origins.
