Shelby historic race cars

Shelby

Shelby American, founded in 1962 by Carroll Shelby, is a motorsport icon, renowned for its powerful racing cars and modified performance models. The brand has distinguished itself in major competitions such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where the Shelby Cobra and the Ford GT40, under Shelby's aegis, made history with their resounding victories over European giants. Shelby is also famous for its high-performance versions of the Ford Mustang, including the Shelby GT350 and GT500. An interesting anecdote is that Carroll Shelby was the first to put an American V8 engine into a British sports car chassis, creating the legendary Shelby Cobra.
