PMS Panhard historic race cars

PMS Panhard

PMS Panhard (also known as Paul Menissier Special) was a unique car constructed by Paul Menissier, a Citroën dealer and racing driver in southern France. Built in 1959, the car was based on a modified Panhard Dyna X chassis, initially equipped with an air-cooled Panhard engine, and later fitted with a more powerful 1600cc Alfa Romeo twin-cam engine. Menissier aimed to create a mid-engine front-wheel-drive race car, achieving a balance between weight distribution and handling. The PMS Panhard was notable for its coil spring rear suspension and aluminum bodywork. Although the car faced challenges in its racing career, it remains an interesting piece of motorsport history
