Apal

Apal (Application Polyester Armé Liège) is a small Belgian manufacturer founded in 1961 in Herstal, near Liège, by Edmond Perry and Bruno Vidick, specializing in fiberglass bodies. The brand became known for its 1200/1600 coupés, its Formula Vee single-seaters and later its buggies and the Speedster based on the Volkswagen Beetle. Apal Belgium closed down in 1998, with Speedster production taken over by Apal GmbH in Germany until its bankruptcy in 2008. Since 2017, the Apal brand has belonged to Belgian businessman Charles-Antoine Masquelin.
