A rare opportunity for enthusiasts and collectors

The BMW M3 CSL (E46) is regarded as the epitome of the link between motorsport and road-legalisation - a vehicle that set standards with its uncompromising lightweight construction philosophy and precise driving dynamics. Developed as a tribute to motor racing, the CSL ("Coupé Sport Leichtbau") combines purist technology, carbon fibre components and the legendary S54 naturally aspirated in-line six-cylinder engine, which is still very popular in motorsport today. With reduced weight, specially tuned suspension and razor-sharp characteristics, the M3 CSL became the ultimate active driving M model of its time - and is now a coveted collector's item with cult status.

In contrast to the standard BMW M3 E46, the M3 CSL was trimmed for lightweight construction and driving dynamics. A weight saving of around 110 kilograms thanks to the carbon roof, thinner glazing, lighter doors and a reduced interior give it a significantly more agile character. Added to this are a revised chassis, more direct steering, the revised SMG II gearstick and the S54 in-line six-cylinder engine with increased output of 264.78 kW (360 hp), which is even more responsive thanks to the carbon intake and modified software. This combination makes the CSL a real driver's car that is noticeably different from the regular M3 - purist, sharper and much closer to the racetrack gene of BMW M Motorsport.

BMW M3 CSL data

This BMW M3 CSL in Silver Grey Metallic comes from German first ownership, which was initially on display at a sports car dealer and was first registered in April 2005. This completely checkbook-maintained and accident-free example impresses with its very good overall technical and visual condition and with a traceable mileage of 99,693 km, which was mainly achieved on long-distance motorway journeys. Apart from a few stone chips in the front area, the rest of the vehicle is in its well-kept, undamaged original paintwork.

As the owner always had real track tools, the BMW M3 CSL was never used on the race track apart from a driver training session on the Nordschleife and a track day in Oschersleben. A Bilstein suspension was installed to improve the driving characteristics. Enthusiasts have the rare opportunity to acquire a genuine collector's vehicle with an honest history and exemplary care.
