HPA Motors is delighted to offer for sale an Alpine A110 1600 SC that is particularly interesting due to its authenticity, history and rarity.
First registered on 30 October 1974, this Alpine Berlinette with chassis number 20367 was originally a very rare Alpine A110 1600 SI, a version of which only around 160 were produced. Subsequently intended for sporting use, it was converted to a 1600 SC Group 3 specification, in line with the customer racing practices of the time.
Presented in its Rouge Corail livery, this Alpine retains remarkable historical integrity to this day. Various expert reports carried out throughout its lifetime confirm that the chassis, bodywork and identification numbers all match. The car has never undergone a full restoration, thus preserving a level of authenticity rarely found on Berlinettes with a sporting history.
A genuine Alpine rally car
The history of chassis 20367 is documented by various archives, period photographs and preserved correspondence.
In particular, this Alpine is believed to have competed in several regional events as well as the Monte Carlo Rally. Its participation in the 1982 Monte Carlo Rally is confirmed by period photographs held in the vehicle’s file.
The available archives also attest to its presence at the Rallye des 10 000 Virages in the late 1980s, further reinforcing its identity as a genuine customer-competition Alpine.
A rare and sought-after example
Among the Alpine A110s produced in Dieppe, the 1600 versions are now among the most sought-after by collectors. The appeal of this particular example lies in the combination of several criteria that are rarely found together:
- Identified and documented chassis
- Particularly rare 1600 SI specification
- Period conversion to 1600 SC Group 3 specification
- Known racing history
- Archive file comprising expert reports, photographs and correspondence
- Preserved in its authentic condition
This Alpine A110 represents a unique opportunity for a Berlinette enthusiast wishing to acquire a car with a genuine sporting history, a far cry from the standardised restorations frequently found on the market.
