Classic Car Design presents this 1991 Porsche 964 Carrera 4 in a rare Amazonasgrün metallic paint finish. Even rarer still, it was ordered new with a bespoke Porsche Exclusive interior (code 99): turquoise leather upholstery perfectly matching the exterior colour. Originally delivered new in Germany, it arrived in France nearly 30 years ago.
Externally, the car presents a fine overall appearance. The bodywork was repainted a few years ago. There are a few minor imperfections in the finish, but these do not detract from the car’s attractive overall appearance. It has retained its original wing mirrors but has been fitted with Cup-style alloy wheels. It also features a rear windscreen wiper, a very useful option on a 911.
Inside, the upholstery is in very good condition. It is fitted with the optional sports seats, which are heated and electrically height-adjustable (options 383/387 and 139/340), as well as air conditioning (573) and an electric sunroof (650). In the boot, the carpet is in perfect condition and all the accessories are present.
Mechanically, the car runs very well and offers the driving pleasure one would expect from a car with a very reasonable mileage. It is fitted with the original sports suspension (option 030). Its owner, who has owned it for over 10 years, has taken great care of it, although the absence of a service history is regrettable. The clutch is new and a service has just been carried out, including, notably, the restoration of the twin ignition system by a French specialist in the field.
This 964 is well worth a look: it truly stands out from the crowd thanks to its colour combination and is fitted with sought-after options. Although it is not perfect, it delivers on performance and is sure to impress enthusiasts of this generation of 911s.
