This Mallory "crab cap" style igniter is the only one of its kind to fit Ford Mustangs and Mercury Cougars without wire interference with the bonnet. The wire exits are on the side and not on the top of the head.

This is a rare YL model, the most powerful in the range, for engines compatible with a preparation of up to around 450 bhp. It has not been manufactured for many years.

The Mallory Dual Point distributor for Small Block Ford is an ideal component for any enthusiast restoring or maintaining a classic Ford Mustang or Mercury Cougar equipped with a 260, 289, 302 or Boss 302 H.O. engine.

This distributor is a direct replacement for the original Ford without any modifications.
This distributor uses the dual-point capacitor system, renowned for its reliability and longevity. It is particularly well suited to high-performance applications. It incorporates a centrifugal advance mechanism to ensure that the engine operates at its optimum performance level at all engine speeds.

This distributor is N.O.S. (New Old Stock), delivered in its original packing box with photocopies of its assembly instructions.

WARNING: although the finger, capacitor and platinum-plated screws can still be found, as they are common to various Mallory references, the head is becoming very rare to find new, so plan to replace it in advance.
