The Ford GT was only offered with four factory options, and this car has all of them: the racing stripes, painted brake callipers, upgraded McIntosh sound system, and the lightweight forged 18” BBS alloy wheels. This car also benefits from an upgraded Roush supercharger pulley (575 bhp up from 550) and is fitted with an X-Pipe exhaust back box. The original has been retained with the car.

The combination of a mid-mounted V8, 550bhp driving the rear axle and no driver assistance might sound like a recipe for a handful, but the Ford GT proves to be one of the most approachable cars of its kind.

Its high levels of performance are truly accessible thanks to precise controls, an expertly honed chassis and smooth power delivery. With tactile steering and excellent ride quality it is often described as a 550bhp Elise, albeit one that delivers 0-60 in 3.7 seconds and on to 205 mph!

Echoing the GT40, the GT’s classical looks have stood the test of time well. Like the original, the doors incorporate sections of the roof to ease ingress and egress and add to the sense of occasion. The retro theme continues inside, with faux eyelets on the seat faces and analogue dials that make a refreshing departure from today’s screen-centric layouts.
