New 185 hp engine...

The entire suspension has been overhauled, with new silent blocks, Bilstein shock absorbers, group 2 rear axle tie rods, and the axle contains a Quaife autoblocker. Since this work was carried out, the car has only been driven 120 km. It is of French origin but has Belgian papers. The sunroof is an option offered by the French importer at the time. The bodywork is very sound, with no rust, no dents and a very clean interior.

Engine peripherals: Facet red fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, new electronic ignition, Weber 45 carburettors, overhauled alternator and starter motor.

Interior: dashboard is original, seats are original but reupholstered in black alcantara.

Wheels: 13-inch new (compomotive). Original wheels are available.

This Sunbeam Talbot Lotus is a real bargain.

As a tuner friend of mine (Stéphane Poudrel) told me, people don't realise that this car offers many more qualities than an Opel Kadett GTE when it comes to getting started in rallying. It's also a car that at the time was said to be driven out of the window... so much so that it's rarely positioned straight on its axis! 😉
