Details

A BMW 2002 GR2...finally we don't find many of them anymore. It dates from April 1974 (BMW 2002 Tii).

For the record, this model is eligible for the Tour de France Auto and the Rallye Monte Carlo Historique.

It is registered in the name of its owner.

The car is remarkably well equipped. A reliable, torquey 170/180 bhp engine prepared by GEMO SPORT.

ENGINE

The engine has +/- 600 kms of special tests and liaison.
Complete top and bottom end preparation
Displacement 2000 cm3
Crankshaft balanced with clutch in place
Reinforced clutch
Forged pistons and connecting rods
Racing camshaft
Polished intake/exhaust ducts
Oil cooler

TRANSMISSION
GETRAG 5 gearbox, sports version (first on bottom left)

Intermediate axle (approx. 170 km/h top speed)
Balanced driveshaft, reinforced sockets

SUSPENSION AND BRAKES

BILSTEIN shock absorbers and delayed springs. All made by R-TEC.
2002 Turbo ventilated front discs, Gr2 approved, Carbon-Lorraine pads. Rear drum brakes

HULL
The body is in very good condition, sound, the rocker panels have been changed. A few small marks illustrate its past.

FFSA-approved 6-point bolted roll bar. Completed with a rear bar behind the seats and HANS fixings to increase rigidity. Work done at Jacques Point.
Makrolon rear and quarter windows. Front and rear windows are available.

The additional headlight kit is sold with the car.

This BMW 2002 GR2 no longer has a valid HGV.

It's a bargain. It is built with good parts and has proved its reliability in major events, both historic rallies and hill climbs.

Today, it would cost twice as much to assemble a car as equipped as it is.

If you make a serious offer, a test drive will be possible on the Pôle Mécanique d'Alès dirt track.
