The BMW E36 Over the years, it has established itself as one of the most popular platforms in touring car racing – lightweight, precise, and with very balanced driving dynamics. Vehicles based on genuine GTR technology are particularly exciting, meaning they use components originally developed for professional racing.

The BMW E36 GTR race car offered here was built in the early 2000s and comes from the circle of K+K Racing (Czech Republic). A corresponding vehicle logbook is available, however, safety-relevant components such as the fuel tank and seatbelts have expired due to age. The vehicle starts and can be driven immediately, but its appearance clearly shows signs of use as a race car – with significant wear and tear on the body and interior.

A particular highlight is the engine conversion to the BMW S85 V10 From the M5/M6, combined with a dual-clutch transmission and paddle shifters. With 137.518 km on the clock, the engine is in near-stock condition; its power output has been increased via software optimization, and the connecting rod bearings were recently replaced. This combination results in a very powerful yet easy-to-maintain setup, as both the engine and transmission are based on proven mass-production technology. Compared to classic racing engines, this offers clear advantages in terms of parts availability and maintenance requirements.

The real value of this BMW E36 GTR racing car The key lies in the original GTR technology used. This includes, among other things, GTR axles with aluminum wheel carriers and GTR swingarms made of aluminum – components that were only available in very limited quantities and are now almost impossible to find on the market. The setup is complemented by a high-performance AP Racing brake system, center-lock wheels, and BBS E88 racing wheels.

Additional equipment: rear axle cooling, gearbox cooling, KW racing suspension, AIM data logger / display, quick lifting system, etc.

The vehicle is offered as pictured and is ideally suited for track days, club racing, or as a basis for a rebuild. Overall, it is an honest, technically very interesting racing car whose value lies primarily in the rare GTR technology and the exceptional drive concept.
