High-performance 2025 PETER AUTO Group C2 winner after Barcelona, Spa and Le Mans Classic.
Eligible for PETER AUTO, MASTER HISTORIC RACING, DAYTONA CLASSIC,...

This car took part in the 1989 24 Hours of Le Mans with the 2 British factory drivers John SHELDON (GB) and Robin Donovan (GB) as well as Max Cohen-Olivar.

Tim Schenken and Howden Ganley, who founded the Tiga brand, produced a number of chassis for the C2 category during the 1980s. These two former Formula 1 drivers, whose first two letters of each other's first names form the name Tiga (Tim and Ganley), produced more than 400 cars before operations ceased in 1989. Tiga chassis were entered in the World Sports Car Championship (notably the Le Mans 24 Hours), as well as in the Interseries and the IMSA Lights.

In 1989, Tiga produced the ultimate evolution of the GC model, which competed in Group C2. Three cars were produced in this new configuration, including chassis no. 372, which was offered for sale. Named GC289, it had a very different radiator system compared to the original (GC288). The water radiator is at the front (hence the wide-open front bonnet) and it has NACA air intakes on the sides for the oil radiators. The diffuser under the car has been optimised.

Entered in the 1989 Le Mans 24 Hours by the Tiga Race Team, it suffered a broken transmission. It was then successfully entered in the World Sports Prototypes Championship where it distinguished itself, winning the round at Donington in the C2 class in 1989 and taking the overall win at the same circuit in 1990.
