Purist, rare and highly sought after by collectors

The Porsche 964 RS is one of the most sought-after air-cooled 911 models ever and is considered one of the last uncompromisingly purist 911s for real drivers. In contrast to the "normal" 964 Carrera, the RS was designed as a consistent lightweight construction and motorsport variant: less weight, significantly more direct handling and a noticeably more focussed set-up of the chassis, steering and drive. Comfort features have been deliberately reduced in order to create a driving experience that is as unfiltered and analogue as possible - precise, raw and fascinatingly honest. It is precisely this combination of rarity, RS specification and driving dynamics that makes the 964 RS an integral part of high-quality collections today and one of the most sought-after "driver's cars" of its era.

Matching numbers, 3.8-litre engine conversion and bare-metal restoration

The Porsche 964 RS offered here is an exceptionally well-maintained and high-quality restored example with a clearly documented history. The vehicle was delivered in Germany in 1992 and has a documented total mileage of 133,703 kilometres. It should be emphasised that this is a matching-numbers vehicle with an original engine, and the history is largely traceable.

The engine was completely rebuilt back in 1999 and converted to 3.8 litres in the course of this revision. At the time of the engine overhaul, the vehicle's mileage was around 100,000 km, meaning that the engine has only run around 33,000 km since the rebuild. This makes for a very attractive overall picture of proven vehicle history and a technically high-quality engine base.

Another key milestone in the history is the comprehensive, two-year complete restoration at AP Car Design in GΓΆttingen, a well-known specialist workshop for classic Porsches in the Porsche scene. The reason for this was an earlier racetrack accident, which was used as an opportunity to completely and professionally rebuild the vehicle. The Porsche 964 RS was stripped down to the bare metal and then completely rebuilt. In addition to rebuilding the bodywork, the following work was also carried out / parts replaced: new carpet, new headlining, new windows all round, refurbishment of seats, dashboard, centre console, steering wheel, gear knob, replacement of lights, reflectors and indicators, axle revision including ice blasting of the axle parts and control arms, as well as replacement of the bearings and chassis. The work was completed in 2016; since completion, the vehicle has travelled less than 1,000 km and has mainly been in a collection. Extensive photo documentation of the restoration and the invoice from AP Car Design are available and emphasise the traceability and quality of this body.

The RS also presents itself visually in a very harmonious, true-to-original configuration: the vehicle has its original exterior colour and the original equipment including the RS seats. All in all, this is a Porsche 964 RS that combines the rare combination of genuine RS substance, extensive documentation, professional restoration and an attractive technical setup.

The Porsche 964 RS is shown with Cup rims, a set of magnesium rims is included.
