- A monster of performance and a model of aesthetics. Produced from 1961, the first series of E-Types ushered in the era of modern sports cars. It was presented for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show, and immediately drew the admiration of professionals and spectators alike. Its design, by aerodynamicist Malcom Sayer, who is also behind the C-Type and D-Type, is a marvel to behold. Its perfect proportions, the purity of its curves, its long bonnet, its elegance and its performance could not fail to seduce enthusiasts. It is such a masterpiece that the Museum of Modern Art in New York (better known as MoMA) has a model in its permanent collection.
As well as professionals, the Jaguar E-Type attracted a number of celebrities of the time, including Brigitte Bardot, Steve McQueen, Tony Curtis and England's enfant terrible of football, George Best. For Jaguar, "the E-Type even became a symbol of the 1960s, like the miniskirt or the Beatles". After more than half a century of making people dream, and without ever getting old, we can only agree. Even today, it serves as a symbol for the brand, which has never quite managed to match its beauty.
As well as its ability to win over the crowds, the E-Type left its mark on its era through its performance. The very first model, launched in 1961, could already reach 240 km/h, making it the fastest production car of all time. A commendable achievement, especially when you consider that this model cost much less than its rivals of the time.

- Regarded by Enzo Ferrari as "the most beautiful car ever built", the Jaguar E-Type is as beautiful as it is timeless.
