Details

This MGA 1600 Mk1 Coupé (FHC) was delivered new as standard in November 1959 to the UK domestic market.
When it left the factory, it was painted black with a red interior, but years later it was gradually transformed into a competition car.
Since then, it has proudly sported this beautiful shade of Ash Green.
Lightened, lowered, stripped, harnessed, bowed, reinforced, sharpened... when this MGA was transformed into the competition car it is today, nothing was left to chance.
It is powered by a BMC 4-cylinder 1588cc engine developing 127hp with two SU HS6 carburettors.

From 2009 onwards, this MGA has been in demand in competition and has met with numerous successes in the hands of its various owners.
Until 2016, it competed in a number of championships in Great Britain (MG Car Club, Thoroughbred Sports Cars Championship, HSCC, VSCC etc).
It was then maintained and prepared by Richard Thorne Classic Cars, a British specialist renowned particularly in the world of Morgans.
Nearly £15,000 (the equivalent of almost €17,000) was spent between June 2012 and April 2014 to improve the car's performance. Invoices for this work can be found in the folder that accompanies the car.
In 2016, the car left its native England for France, where it has since made its home, and how... It then took its owner to the top step of the Asavé 65 podium on several occasions as part of the FFSA Historic Tour, where it competed for three years until the end of 2018.
As proof of its performance and excellent health, it won the last three rounds of this championship in which it took part that year (6 May 2018 at Dijon-Prenois, 27 May 2018 at Charade, 9 September 2018 at the Bugatti Circuit in Le Mans).
TOUR AUTO 2020
Since then, it has benefited from a great deal of preparation, before taking part in the Tour Auto in September 2020, in competition.
That year, exceptionally, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Tour Auto took place between the end of August and the beginning of September.
After this fabulous event, it underwent a complete overhaul in the workshops of mecanic Gallery (Lyon).
Used sparingly since then, it is now ready for its next adventures in historic competition.
