Hello,

Long time Mustang collector, I am selling a 289 Mustang Coupé project for VHC or VHRS preparation. Body almost finished, without engine.

The car is already well advanced. It has been designed to be homologated for FIA and Peter Auto events. The base is a 1965 Coupé (not 1966, very important for the entry class), CGF collection.

The body is ultra sound and very beautiful, with impeccable alignments. However, it will need a few minor paintwork touches to be perfect.
The front skirt (in sheet metal) has been reworked to create a central opening (engine cooling) and to relocate the indicators to allow two small openings on each side (brake cooling). These modifications are FIA-compliant.
The front and rear bonnets have FIA-compliant closures.
The bends are original.
The fuel tank is an ATL but is out of date.

The chassis has been restored with short springs, low leaf springs and Koni dampers. The steering box is a close-ratio (16/1). There is a large anti-roll bar. The axle is a self-locking 9-inch with a very large Maier Racing axle guide (the only point where FIA compliance needs to be checked).
The brakes are discs at the front and heavy duty drums at the rear (same as Shelby, FIA compliant). A brake splitter is fitted. Everything is FIA compliant.
The wheels are American Racing 7x15 (TB15 HS tyres).

The interior has been stripped but still has door panels and a dashboard trim (to be refastened). A 6-point roll bar is supplied with the car (diameter compliant, but two side bars will need to be added for homologation).
The instrumentation includes a rev counter and Smith gauges. A circuit breaker is fitted and a remote-control fire extinguisher kit is supplied (FIA approved).
There are no seats or bucket seats. However, I can supply them for VHRS use (Corbeau bucket seats and harnesses in perfect condition with expired homologation).

The Top loader box has been rebuilt and is fitted with a complete Hurst control (FIA Group 2 compliant).

The car has no engine but I can provide two options:
 An original 302 HO long block with the components to convert it (aluminium intake, Holley, Mallory igniter, Weiand crankcase, etc. + €3,000)
 A 289 with extensive preparation (Shelby intake, Holley 650, Warrior cast-iron cylinder heads, Milodon crankcase, etc.), dismantled and to be rebuilt following detonation (pistons and camshaft out of order) (+ €6,000 or reassembly to be discussed with a reputed preparer for a quote of €15,000 for a complete engine + 380 bhp on the dyno). IMPORTANT: FIA and Peter Auto-compliant parts.
Some of the peripherals are supplied with the car (aluminium radiator, alternator, oil recuperator, etc.).

The car does not have a historic technical passport (PTH), but it has been designed to be easy to obtain.

No exchange: I already have its replacement (an operational Mustang VHC, which is why I'm selling this project).

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
