Alfa Romeo Giulia coupé Bertone GT 1300 Junior
For restoration to original condition or for project GTA 1300 junior

YEAR : 1968, first series - Letter box bonnet
Matching number (original engine and body).

VERSION : 105.30 00530.
ENGINE :
Twin-cam 4 cylinders - 1290 cm3 - original 103 bhp (SAE), 88.4 bhp (DIN) at 6,000 rpm - 7 hp.
5-speed manual gearbox,
4 ATE disc brakes.

The engine, Weber carburettors, gearbox and axle work normally, providing a good basis for advanced preparation. Depending on the level of preparation, 165 HP can be obtained at 8,400 rpm. At these revs, the fitter sings, this is the most Veloce version of the Bialbero.

KILOMETRAGE: nearly 100,000 original km on the clock.

BODYWORK: This Alfa Romeo is a good basis for restoration. It has been dismantled and sandblasted with a protective coat of anti-rust epoxy primer.
The bodywork and underbody are sound overall, but work is required to replace the rocker panels, refinish the floorboards and rear window surround and remove the dent from the front and door panels.

EQUIPMENT: the equipment, including the upholstery, dashboard, instruments and accessories, is almost complete and functional for a restoration to original condition. The chrome and bumpers are not pitted. The brakes, clutch and suspension need servicing.

DOCUMENTS: Original registration certificate.

PROJECT HISTORY: After racing a 1954 Alfa Giulia TI Super 1600 (now in Japan), I acquired this coupé to develop a GTA 1300 Sprint project. A life choice has led me to other horizons. The car is eligible for most historic races, including the Tour Auto, in rally or circuit. The Group 2 homologation form n° 1557 includes a large number of engine and body modification extensions, including the Auto-delta kit with wide fibreglass wing.

ALFA HISTORY: In 1968, Alfa Romeo decided to take part in the Touring Car Championship, which was reserved for cars with a smaller engine capacity: the Giulia GTA 1300 Junior was born. At the time, it was billed as "the Giulia that wins": a fitting definition, since the GTA 1300 Junior's record of national and international triumphs included victories in Italy and the United States, as well as on various European circuits.

LOCATION: The Alfa can be seen at Département Classic in Boissets (78), a specialist in the restoration of historic and competition vehicles.
No visits without prior telephone contact.
No exchange for another vehicle.
