Superb 911 2.4 E TARGA 1973

History of the model
At the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1963, Porsche unveiled its prototype no. 5 called the "901", which was eventually marketed under the name 911. This small GT was to become a benchmark in the world of sports cars. It was in 1967, with the launch of the Targa models, that Porsche responded to the increased safety requirements for convertibles by offering an open vehicle equipped with a fixed roll bar. The styling of the first 911 remained unchanged until 1973, while the powertrain evolved. From August 1971, with a further increase in the displacement of the Flat 6, the Porsche 911 E was equipped with a 2.4-litre engine and power was increased to 165 bhp.

History:
This Targa was delivered in France on 28 June 1973 in a 4-speed Sportomatic configuration. One of its owners, like many at the time, subsequently had the gearbox replaced by a 5-speed manual gearbox. (more Dynamic). Since it was first registered, it has had only five owners, the last two of whom have been identified with certainty by our teams. The penultimate owner kept it from May 2005 to January 2019 and it was driven very little during this period, as attested by the technical checks carried out. On the other hand, it was kept warm in the owner's showroom. In January 2019, M.H, an enthusiast of historic rallies (in Alfa Romeo) and cars, bought the beautiful Targa and carried out a number of works on it (around 20,000 Euros).

In April 2023, Mr H decided to sell it to us in order to buy another classic car. We fell in love with this car, and its paintwork, which had to be redone a few years ago (before 2005), looks extremely good, is really bright and gives a great finish. We decided to make the interior look just as clean. We changed all the carpets. But also the seats and we chose to change the original velvet by fabric pépita (It is emblematic at Porsche and it gives it light inside). In order to be in harmony in every detail, we fitted it with a Porsche Pepita tool kit and matching key ring. This Targa is truly superb and is sure to win you over.
