"The announcement that Lotus was discontinuing the Twin Cam came as a shock to Caterham, and given the strong demand (and rightly so) from customers to power their cars with this famous engine, Caterham approached the tuner Vegantune to take over production. The pace became more artisanal than before, and in the end, a series of 41 engines was produced under the name 'VTA' over a period of 4 years.
